Slab & Tile Production Requirements:

Granite should be grade A quality, and the finish as follows:
1. POLISHING: Polishing will be uniform throughout the slabs/tiles and in gloss meter reads:
  •  For black slabs/tiles: polishing +95 in gloss meter
  •  For colored slabs/tiles, polishing +85 in gloss meter
There should be no grinding wheel marks on the polished face.
2. FLAMING: Flame will be uniform throughout the slabs/tiles and brushed evenly on  slabs/tiles after flaming.
3. THICKNESS: Need to be consistent and +/- 1.0mm in tolerance for different slab; and +/- 0.5mm on the same slab; +/- 0.5mm in tolerance for each tile.
4. FLATNESS:
  • If length <= 400mm,flatness tolerance: +/-0.2mm
  • If 400mm < length < 1000, flatness tolerance: +/- 0.5mm
  • If length >= 1000mm, tolerance: +/- 0.8mm
5. DIAGONAL: +/- 0.5mm in tolerance for tiles.
6. LENGTH AND WIDTH: +/- 0.5mm in tolerance for tiles and slabs (not apply to the random edge slabs).
7. FRONT EDGE DEFECT: Not allowed for slabs and tiles.
8. FRONT CORNER DEFECT: Not allowed for slabs and tiles.
9. UNPOLISHED SIDE: The unpolished side of the slab/tiles should be flat and smooth.
10. CRACK: Not allowed for slabs and tiles.
11. CRACK LOOKS TREATMENT: If slab/tile have crack looks (not the real crack, like paper been foddered but not tear down), please treat it.
12. SURFACE TREATMENT: If it is possible, treat the slab/tile surface after it has been polished. So there is no little dent. This treatment is not required, but is recommended.
13. BILLED AREA DEFENATION:
For slab size > 1.2m x 2.2m, there should be a 1" (2.54 CM) allowance on each side of the slab to be taken out for the actually billed area. For examples:
For slab size < 1.2m x 2.2m, the actually billed area is the smallest length times smallest width.
For examples:

Remarks: K54, K68 (Almond Mauve) slab color requirement
Due to the granite color impurity, there are usually several big black spots appearing on the surface of the slab. Our requirement is there should be no more than two (2) pieces of such black spots with the maximum diameter of each spot less than 6cm on the polished surface.
Pre-fabricated Counter-top Production Requirements:
Pre-fabricated counter-top (laminated & non-laminated edge):

Symbol
Description
Measurement
Comments
A
Width 28 5/8" From underside of notch to back end of countertop (30" overall total width)
B
Length 87" to 96"
C
Backsplashes

No Backsplashes Needed

D
Thickness 3/4"
E
Edge Profile 1 3/8" Straight edge, Bullnose or Ogee edge

(Solid non-laminated edge)
1. Bullnose needs to start at least 3/4" (or 19.05 mm) back from the front edge.
2. Laminated piece needs to be 1 3/8" (34.925 mm) length.
3. Counter-top width is 30" (762 mm) and length is at least 87" (2209.8 mm).
4. Counter-top needs to be perfect squared (1/16" tolerance) and two short sides (left & right) need to be 90 degree straight cut for the purpose of the seamless connection in the future.
5. For the laminated edge, the width of the seam should keep at minimum (1/32" tolerance) to non-visible as much as possible.
6. For both laminated and non-laminated counter-tops, the thickness needs to be consistent and +/- 1.0---+/-2.0mm in tolerance.
7. The bullnose edge needs to be straight, if you put it under the light and look at from one end to another (along the line marked B on the Figure 1), you shouldn't see bumps.
